Bio

Scott Arthur was born in Bushnell, IL. He graduated from Coal City High School and would later attend Western Illinois University. While at Western Illinois University Scott studied sculpture with Don Crouse and painting with Michael Mahoney. After completing a second bachelor degree in graphic design Scott began living and working in Chicago, IL and later Oakland, CA as a graphic artist and art director. In the fall of 2008 he was admitted to the M.A. painting program at Eastern Illinois University. In 2010 he was accepted into the M.F.A. program at Louisiana State University. He studied from the Fall of 2010 to the Spring of 2013 with Rick Ortner, Denyce Celentano, Ed Smith, Chris Johns, James Beaman, John Malveto and Kelli Scott Kelley.
